On August 28th, there were two sessions delivered by the Higher Education Reform Expert HERE in Tajikistan EICCA Coordinator Saidqosim Mukhtorov. The first session was dedicated to the EU accession policy and requirements. Saidqosim Mukhtorov mentioned key points for becoming a new member of EU. He also brought an example of Croatia joining European Integration, describing how long it took to become a member state and the changes in Croatia after joining the EU. In addition the Expert outlined the responsibilities and potential benefits a candidate state receives.
The following session was about the EU competition and state aid policy and consumer protection in the EU. Saidqosim Mukhtorov explained the working mechanism of the state aid policy and when it could be activated. He emphasized the competition policy of the EU and to what extent is the EU stands for the fair competition. Moreover, Saidqosim Mukhtorov brought the real case example of the Microsoft company explaining the interconnect of competition and consumer protection. He noted the importance of being aware of the competition policy of the EU for third country companies.
The day session was over with the Case Study and Workshop run by Firuz Okhunov. The workshop was dedicated to the interconnection of EU policies and the competitiveness of the EU Pharmacology industry in the global market. Students developed their ideas about the potential ways of making the EU companies more competitive and at the same time following the EU regulations and values.
